The Perfect D100 Pickup: Doing It Differently with a Big Block Dodge Restomod Truck
When it comes to the popularity vintage pickup trucks, particularly ones from the 1970s, Chevy is the clear king. Whether it’s the early ‘70s models or the red hot square bodies, the bowtie is big
Then, as you’d imagine, Ford is next — with its own ‘70s era F-series pickups emerging as a highly sought-after classic and restomod project vehicle in recent years.
Meet Marly
Finally there’s Dodge to round out the big three. Despite great styling, solid aftermarket support and lots of great powertrain options, Dodge trucks have never been as popular as its Detroit rivals. And we have to wonder why.
In our eyes, the Dodge D100 of the ‘70s one of the great underrated pickup platforms, which when done right can not only be just as cool, but a lot more unique than your typical Chevy or Ford.
Case in point: this beautiful orange ’73 D100 built by Hot Rods & Custom Stuff out of Escondido, California.
Dubbed "Marly," this stepside Dodge is the result a painstaking restomod process, during which not one but two donor pickups were used to create a pretty special machine.
