The Fun Family Car: Lexus NX200t F Sport
I know that at some point in my life I’m going to have to start doing grown up things, and at a recent Lexus ride and drive event, I had the opportunity to test drive all their F Sport vehicles, including the IS, RC, GS and NX200t--all proper grown up vehicles. I took the keys to the NX in preparation for the future. Here are four grown-up things I could see myself doing with the SUV:
1. Taking Kids Wherever They Need to Go
Kids will always be embarrassed by their parents, so whether I’ll be dropping them off at school or the public library (assuming they still exist) they might not want to be seen getting out of my low, modified import car. The NX is far from embarrassing, and has a modern design to make me still feel “cool” about what I drive.
2. Family Outings
A roomy 5-seater with cargo space to throw everyone’s bags in is all I need for family bonding trips. The NX’s turbocharged engine will keep us going anywhere we want to go and the smooth handling will keep the kiddos from waking up after falling asleep at the end of a long day.
3. Using Nav to Avoid Getting Lost
It’s going to happen, it always happens, but I wont ever have to stress about it since the NX is equipped with all sorts of technology to help me out in a jam. One of the best things about getting lost is finding adventures along the way. The navigation can take me to canyon roads, and surprisingly this SUV happens to handle just like a car; it's as nimble and responsive as any of the sedans or coupes in the Lexus lineup.
4. Grocery Getter
Nothing says you're "all growns up" more than regular trips to the grocery store. As long as I don’t forget the shopping list, I know I won't have any issues bringing them back in the NX. The rear folding seats, cargo room and power rear doors make loading and uploading a breeze.
When the time comes that I have to give up my import car for a family car, I know my future will still be fun if I get myself into a Lexus NX200t F Sport. It looks sharp, comes loaded with features and is fun to drive, plenty for the whole family.
