The 2020 Rezvani Tank is the Most Powerful SUV on Earth

Earlier this year, we featured one of the most unique SUV’s on the planet. The Rezvani Tank set a new benchmark for factory vehicles that come armed to the teeth with gadgets and gizmos you’d rarely ever need along your commute. But then again, the Tank was never intended to be just a commuter car. It was built for the likes of high-profile individuals with serious security needs, or maybe a secret agent working for MI6. But even James Bond has to evolve every once in a while.

And so did the Rezvani Tank. This week, the Orange County, California-based auto maker announced the arrival of the all-new 2020 Rezvani Tank. A revamped version of the original Tank, on an updated chassis, with even more options including a 1,000HP engine. Yes, you read that right.

So let’s dive into what’s new for the 2020 Tank. While the previous model was based on a Jeep JK chassis, utilizing the JK’s interior, powerplant and axles, the 2020 Tank is based on the newer Jeep Wrangler JL platform. Still available in three trim levels, the Tank, Tank X and the Tank Military all have a list of features of their own with a variety of power plants. The Tank starts at $155,000 and comes with a standard 285HP 3.6L Pentastar currently found under the hood of the Jeep Wrangler JL, with options to upgrade, including a 500HP 6.4L Hemi V8, and 3.0L diesel (which we believe to be the EcoDiesel also available in the Jeep JL).

The Tank Military Edition sports all the defensive bells and whistles from the previous model Tank, including bulletproof armor and glass, underside explosive protection, magnetic deadbolts, thermal night vision cameras, survival gear for each occupant, and even a system tested by the department of defense that’s designed to protect the vehicle from an EMP weapon. That’s right, it’s electro-magnetic pulse-proof. Ya know, in case the Russians start getting antsy again.

But those seeking performance over everything else, there’s the Tank X. Under the hood is a standard 6.4L Hemi boasting 500HP, but the real kicker is the optional 6.2L Supercharged V8 from the Dodge Demon, tuned to over 1,000HP, making the 2020 Rezvani Tank X the most powerful production SUV on the planet. Aside from its blistering power, the Tank X comes with Fox suspension, 16-inch brakes, and auto-retracting side-steps. Getting all that power to the ground is a set of 37-inch Nitto Trail Grapplers, wrapping the matte black 5-spoke wheels.

The interior of the new Tank resembles that of a Jeep JL, with some luxurious touches. White dashboard and gauge faces complement the white seats as well as the stitching on the steering wheel. While the body mostly resembles the previous model year, LED headlights and tail lights set the 2020 Tank apart from its predecessor. And of course, you still have an option list full of Bond-inspired gadgetry to choose from.

The 2020 Rezvani Tank once again brings the imagination of what an SUV could be to the market, in a way we’ve never seen before. Powerful, bold and commanding, the new Tank is a unique vehicle for a unique clientele, but now boasts a title as the most powerful SUV on the market, undoubtedly drawing power-hungry performance junkies to consider adding it to their stable. And although it’s built to keep you alive during the apocalypse, we still think it would be fun to rip around a track, both dirt and pavement.
