Not the Average Work Truck: A Radical Raised 2017 Flatbed Ford F350 Super Duty Dually
RBP (Rollin’ Big Power) created the Builder’s Challenge to help them select the biggest, and boldest trucks out there to represent them at the SEMA show over the last few years. The trucks are not only selected to highlight their latest wheels and accessories but to draw attention to the unique modifications on the builds.
SEMA Standout
Brandon Henson looked to stand out from the crowd even more with his 2017 Ford F350 Super Duty and employed the marketing team at Truck Guru along with Performance Offroad in Bakersfield, California to craft a concept that would turn heads. With experience displaying at SEMA show in the past, he knew that for this round he needed to go above and beyond the sea of heavy-duty lifted trucks rolling on big wheels and tires. It needed a modification that would set it apart from the rest of the Super Duty trucks and help show off the latest parts from RBP.
Workbed Body
The biggest change that Brandon’s Super Duty went through was to ditch the factory bed in favor of a Bradford Built workbed. Naturally, a few modifications would be in the cards so the workbed was customized with larger fenders to accommodate the oversized wheels and tires that Brandon had planned for the truck.
The front end saw plenty of upgrades as well, including a massive Road Armor front bumper that was outfitted with a WARN winch and RBP LED light pods. Finishing off the front end is a sleek RBP Midnight grille with a set of LED lights flushed in.
Rollin’ Big
One of the biggest trends in the lifted truck world has been to increase not only the tire size but the wheel size as well. This Ford saw a full set of massive 26x8.5-inch RBP Apex 12R dually wheels in a machined black finish mounted up to the truck with True Spike lug nuts. For tires, Brandon looked to Nitto for their 40-inch tall Nitto Trail Grappler mud-terrain tires that fit perfectly under the stretched workbed fenders.
Providing the altitude needed to clear those wheels and tires is an 8-inch lift from BDS Suspension featuring FOX Shox with a set of Ride Rite helper bags in the rear to accommodate the added weight from the Bradford Built bed. Power upgrades came by way of a Gibson exhaust system topped off with an RBP exhaust tip and a torque-increasing custom tune from PPEI.
Finishing Touches
In preparation for the big show, the cab of the truck saw a clean matte silver wrap featuring the RBP logo. One of the latest products that RBP wanted to show off at tSEMA was a set of their new Stealth Power Steps; perfect for getting in and out of the raised truck easily.
Rolling into the 2019 SEMA show; Brandon pulled up alongside the rest of the RBP Builder’s Challenge trucks. The rig stood out in the crowd thanks to the unique touches that Truck Guru and Performance Offroad put on Brandon's Super Duty.
