Mitsubishi Owner's Day [Photo Gallery]
Having gone to many import car shows, I've seen photographers take numerous pictures of models and cars. It looked fairly simple...just focus and click, right? I'll be using the same type of camera, the cars are all parked nicely and the sunlight was good. So how hard could shooting the Mitsubishi Owner's Day be? I arrived before noon and the first thing I see was an In-N-Out truck! How awesome is that?! The smell of burgers cooking sure beats the aroma of exhaust and squash air fresheners. I started walking toward the show with my camera ready, but then I noticed a sea of cars that were lined very neatly, not slanted like in most car shows. I felt a bit overwhelmed and discouraged thinking that my pictures would be consistently just frontal views but this is when my time at car shows had finally paid off. I started to recall different angles of cars that photographers would capture and I tried my best to reproduce the same but it was difficult to do when all the cars are in the exact same position. The background wasn't very helpful as it was in an industrial environment where the Mitsubishi headquarters is located, so I used the plants to add some texture to the photos. There I was trying to find the right angles and the perfect background, when all of a sudden I kept hearing big, loud sounds. Almost as if I were at a race track or something. I finished getting my photo, started to follow my ears and that's where I saw they were having live dyno demonstrations. The crowd gathered and were really into it, which was a nice break from walking around all of the Mitsubishis. For the rest of the show I just relaxed and talked to people until the awards were being announced. There were a lot being handed out and each owner that went up, looked very excited and humbled at the same time because all of their hard work was being acknowledged. After that, it was roll out time, where I finally got to see these cars move from their stationary parking spots. The show was over, but now the fun part..going through my photos and hoping I got some good shots out of it!
