In 2012 the Scion Tuner Challenge featured Chris Basselgia’s Minty FReSh, Daniel Song’s FR-S GT, and John Toca’s Carbon Stealth. Being the first major FR-S builds, the trio was free to set the precedence and enhance the amazing style and performance of this hot new car any way they liked.
2 years later and a lot has happened since the Scion FR-S made its debut to the world and stole the show at its first SEMA Show. The market is filled with FR-S aftermarket parts, from the simplest shift knob to the widest wide body kit, anything is possible now.
This year’s contestants don’t just have to rise to a level above the past competition, but they also have to step it up against all of the hundreds of epic FR-S builds that have come since then.
GT Channel, Speed Hunters, and Superstreet had the honor, or challenging task, of taking a FR-S RS1, finding a way to further modify them with the large market of available parts, and then adding their own customizations to bring these builds to a whole other level.
