Behind the Scenes: The Making of Driftadega Nights

What do you get when you take Formula Drift superstars out of their comfort zone behind the wheel and place them in front of the camera? Pure comedy.
That's exactly what Nitto Tire, who lives by their fueled by enthusiasts tagline, did when they asked Vaughn Gittin Jr, Matt Powers and Matt Field to put their own spin on some of the best scenes from one of most iconic racing films of all time, Talladega Nights.
Filming on a hot August day in southern California, the drivers fully immersed themselves into their characters for a full afternoon of filming and hilarity.
While the final cut was just over two minutes long, filming a video like this required countless takes from several different angles. An entire film crew was on hand to help move the set from location to location and prep the drivers for the next scene.
Improvising was actually encouraged throughout the shoot and resulted in some of the most hilarious scenes including this one with Matt Field playing the role of the cougar.
