ASAP Tire: It's as Easy as 1, 2, 3!

Is there anything more convenient than pizza delivery? You get to stay at home (fully clothed, we hope), make a phone call or order via app, and 30 minutes later: boom, you have a staple of the American diet sitting on your dining table. What if I told you the same thing's available, but for tires? Track junkies, car enthusiasts and regular motorists, rejoice – it does exist. One of the most time consuming tasks of maintaining a vehicle has now become just as easy as ordering a pizza, thanks to the guys at ASAP Tire.

If you’ve ever had to replace your tires, you know it's not a DIY job. Unless you have a wheel mounting machine and balancer in your garage, you go to a tire shop to have it taken care of, which isn't a big deal if you’ve got the time and know a trustworthy shop. Unfortunately that’s not always the case. Most of us fear regular tire changes because we're afraid of potential damage caused by mounting/dismounting and the actual time spent waiting for them to be installed. This is where ASAP Tire comes in very handy. They take special care with every customer's car - stock or modified - working around your schedule, keeping it very convenient. ASAP Tire carries a huge inventory of tires in all sizes and has experts available to help you decide which tire best fits your need. As my Audi R8 was due for new tires, I decided to give the good guys at ASAP Tire a try.

I had already sourced my tires on my own (you don't have to purchase tires from them) and explained to customer service that I was only looking for mounting, balancing and installation. One nice advantage of using ASAP Tire is they simply confirmed that the sizing I had was correct, rather than trying to sell me on another set. I was a little shocked to find that the price they quoted me was the same as if I took the tires to a local shop to do the work! On a separate occasion I found the same to be true when I sent a friend to ASAP Tire for his Audi All-Road. The pricing for mobile service is really competitive compared to 'brick and mortar'-based stores.

I matched a set of NITTO INVO 245/30R20 (front) and 305/25R20 (rear) tires to a fresh set of Vorsteiner VFF-103 Flow Forged rims. The INVOs are a great all-season performance tire with a trick tread pattern.

The technicians at ASAP Tire use only the good stuff, like sleeved sockets to make sure your wheels don't get scratched, as well as low-profile jacks to ensure your side skirts don't get chipped. You'd be surprised how many tire shops don't take these details into consideration.

Once my old wheels and tires were pulled off, they went into the ASAP Tire van for dismounting.

Pretty amazing that this installation van holds everything you need for safe and quick tire changes on the fly.

Even though I was upgrading my wheels and tires, I had the technician do this so he could swap the OEM TPMS (tire pressure monitor sensor) over from my stock wheels.

Once the TPMS was transferred, the next step was to mount the NITTO INVOs on the VFF-103s

The speed and care in the handling of each tire and wheel was impressive; these guys really know what they're doing.

Next, he swung the new tire and wheel over a few feet to the wheel balancer...

...wait for the computer to do its magic and...

...add weights as needed. (Note: The VFF-103's were extremely well balanced, one of the few wheels I've seen with very little weights needed.) Sal, my preferred tech, transferred the wheels in pairs (front and rear); during test fitment, he even asked if I wanted my calipers taped to be safe!

Like a glove! Same steps for the rear: dismount, swap TPMS, mount and balance... rinse and repeat.

Unless you’re getting a whole new tire and rim set, replacing a consumable such as tires is about as exciting as an oil change. ASAP Tire has changed the game, making the entire process easy, quick and comfortable - either at your own home or office. Now that it's done, is anyone up for pizza?
