A Sea of Blue: Subaru Summer Solstice 2016 [Gallery]
What's bright, breezy and blue all over? The Subaru Summer Solstice 2016, of course. All years, models and modifications were out at the Port of Los Angeles to show off anything sporting the famous Subaru star badge.
Walking around the huge parking lot that protrudes into the harbor, attendees could see about every branch of modification a Subaru owner could progress around in their ownership. As I stood in one spot near the front of the show, I could look one way and see a line of WRXs that had suspension lifts, knobby tires and mud worn as a second coat of paint; then look the other way and see a couple more laying on the ground with the help of bagged suspension and precise wheel fitment. If that weren’t enough, I could look past both groups and see yet another row ready for track day on dirt or tarmac.
Don’t even get me started on the BRZ, Foresters or SVXs... the list does go on.
Among some of my favorites from the show had to be Sandy Lirag’s DAMD 86 Vantage in all of it’s silver glory under the midday sun and Derek’s BRZ, which sports one of the most impressive lists of JDM STI parts I’ve seen.
Take a look through the gallery and let us know if you have a favorite, which shouldn’t be difficult considering the fact that this year’s event had more flavors of Subaru than Baskin Robbins has of ice cream.
Think you've seen it all at Subaru Summer Solstice? We bet one of these seven styles will surprise you.
