Captured in Los Alamos, California during the summer of 2013, this photo shows so many pieces of my own character. Sometimes working as a photographer I get lost in lighting, time of day, and production - forgetting the natural fluidity of photography as an art. This day my camera was just me, looking out through a lens and capturing a basic slice of my life.
I'm a country boy stuck in the city, longing for a simpler small town life. You can take the hotrods that I'm into at face value, but deeper than that my soul longs for yesteryear - and these autos and buildings represent that. Then there's the history of this snapshot, I love history and feel like a weird historian by default. The picture was shot in black and white, super grainy, and raw - all qualities that tell of a different time in technology. Lastly, while you only see a small handful of people in the picture, inside awaits a ton of new friends, old friends, and family. It represents a great time...
